A Welcoming Church in the Heart of Idaho - Where Faith, Family, and Community Come Together

Our History

Rupert First Church Rupert, Idaho

Our Story

Welcome to our church family! We're a community of believers who have been serving Rupert and the surrounding areas for generations. Nestled in the heart of Idaho, we're a place where neighbors become family and faith grows deep roots. Our church was founded on the belief that everyone deserves a place to belong, grow, and serve in our close-knit community.

Throughout our history, we've remained committed to creating a welcoming environment where people from all walks of life can explore their faith, find meaningful connections, and make a difference in our community. From Sunday worship services to community outreach programs, we're proud to be part of Rupert's rich Christian heritage and close-knit community spirit. Our story is woven with countless moments of joy, growth, and service - moments that reflect the values of faith, family, and community that make our small town special.

Our Beliefs and Values

At Rupert First Church, we're proud to be part of the Assemblies of God family, embracing the 16 Fundamental Truths that guide our faith journey. These core beliefs shape how we worship, serve, and build relationships, helping us stay true to God's word while creating an inclusive environment for everyone.

  • The Scriptures: Inspired by God, the Bible is the ultimate authority, revealing His divine design and plan for humanity.
  • The Trinity: There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus Christ: Fully God and fully man, Jesus is our Savior, whose life, death, and resurrection provide the path to salvation.
  • Humanity and Sin: Man was created in God's image but fell into sin, bringing evil and death into the world.
  • Salvation: Restoration of fellowship with God is available to every individual through faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Baptism and Communion: We practice water baptism by immersion and Holy Communion as ordinances instituted by Christ.
  • Holy Spirit: The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a subsequent experience that empowers believers for service.
  • Initial Physical Evidence: The initial physical evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
  • Sanctification: A lifelong process of becoming more Christlike, separating from sin and evil.
  • The Church's Mission: To seek and save all who are lost in sin, embodying Christ's love and compassion.
  • The Ministry: A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the threefold purpose of leading the Church in evangelization, worship, and building up believers.
  • Divine Healing: Believers have the privilege and authority to pray for and receive divine healing.
  • The Blessed Hope: Belief in the rapture of the Church before Christ's return to earth.
  • Millennial Reign: Christ will return to reign with His saints for a thousand years.
  • Final Judgment: A final judgment will occur for those who reject Christ.
  • New Heavens and Earth: Anticipation of a perfect New Heavens and New Earth prepared by Christ.
